On March 12, 2015, a private passenger bus, operated by Excursions Trailways, went off Interstate 65 southbound and wrecked just north of Henryville, Indiana. This bus was transporting students from Indiana Tech to a national bowling tournament in Smyrna, Tennessee. Multiple students and passengers were injured in the bus wreck and treated at local hospitals.
Commercial buses are governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Commercial bus drivers must obtain a commercial driver's license to operate a bus such as this. There are many rules and regulations applicable to the safe operation of a commercial bus which must be closely and thoroughly explored to determine what happened and who is responsible for this loss.
